Against All Odds: Suzanne Al Houby, The First Arab Woman To Climb Mount Everest And The Seven Summits Check out why Suzanne Al Houby encourages everyone "to be the coach of their own life journey."

You're reading Entrepreneur Middle East, an international franchise of Entrepreneur Media.

Staged in partnership with du, Against All Odds is an Entrepreneur Middle East Live webinar series that features enterprising women who have risen above personal and professional challenges to develop solutions, launch businesses, and lead global initiatives that make them inspirational role models around the world.

For this edition of Against All Odds, Suzanne Al Houby, founder of Rahhalah Explorers, a Dubai-based adventure travel company, and the first Arab woman to climb Mount Everest and the Seven Summits, shared the wisdom that mountaineering offered her for succeeding in both entrepreneurship and life.

"Once your mind and heart are open to take all it [a new idea] in, and let it be fluid in producing something that you believe in, sky is the limit, or as my partner keeps saying, mind is the limit, because we can always recreate ourselves," Al Houby said. "I think that everything we learn elsewhere can be applied to entrepreneurship. I don't mean to undermine all the nice textbooks, but I am an unusual entrepreneur, because textbooks mean less to me right now, and I do encourage everyone out there to be the coach of their own life journey. It's good to seek coaching elsewhere, but be the coach of your own journey, and simply experience something extraordinary."
