Streaming Services Are Raising Prices Again — Everything You Need to Know Before Your Next Bill These price hikes could easily be missed on your next billing date.

Like just about everything (except avocados) amid rampant inflation, several streaming services are increasing prices starting December 1.

Price hikes for streaming services have been steadily rising over the past few years. Netflix, the first streaming leader of its kind, began raising prices in 2014 when it jumped from the original $8 a month to $12 for a premium subscription. Now, as competition has risen and each platform fights for monthly subscribers — along with rising production and licensing costsstreaming services are once again raising the financial barrier to entry.

Some price hikes will be minimal, and could easily be missed if you're not paying attention to your next billing cycle. Still, for those who are subscribed to more than one service, it might be a good time to consider platform priorities. Here's a breakdown of all the upcoming changes in plans so you can reevaluate your streaming budget.

Apple TV+: going from $4.99 a month to $6.99 a month starting December 1st.

Sling TV: Orange or Sling Blue plan will now cost $40 per month, and Orange and Blue bundle plans will cost $55 starting December 3rd.

Hulu + Live TV:

  • Hulu + Live TV (with ads), Disney+ (no ads) and ESPN+ (with ads) bundle will cost $75 per month — up $5 from the previous $70 a month — starting December 8th.
  • Hulu + Live TV (no ads) bundle will go up from $76 a month to $83 a month starting December 8th.

Disney+: The cost of the ad-free tier will go from $8 a month to $11 starting December 8th. The new Disney+ Premium Plan will have an annual price of $109.99.

Netflix, however, has not announced an upcoming price hike along with its competitors. Instead, it has launched an ad-supported tier starting at $6.99 a month, and its basic plan remains at $9.99 a month.
