IN THE PAST, THE MONEYWISE section did a wonderful job of tracking the gains and losses of financial advisers, analysts, stockbrokers, and other industry experts. Articles followed initial investments in stock or mutual fund picks and reported the returns or losses over a 12-month period. Unfortunately, I have noticed that those articles no longer appear in BLACK ENTERPRISE.
Could it be that these financial experts are reporting so many losses that they are no longer willing to be featured? They should be courageous enough to take it on the chin when they're wrong.
I'm calling foul play because BE is failing to report the full picture. Don't just feed your readers information when it's good, yet speculative; give us information even if it's bad, as long as it's verifiable. We need a balanced report so we can make the best decisions.
In addition, where are the articles about investors who are making money in this down market? I know they exist. I expect more from BE. This is your challenge--rise to meet it!
