No one wants to get audited by the Internal Revenue Service. Here, accountant Mark Kohler offers three tips for handling your taxes carefully as to avoid the IRS from knocking on your door:

1. Make sure your return is well-balanced, so that no expenses seem high or out of the ordinary.
2. It might seem like a no-brainer, but make sure to file all of your necessary returns.
3. Make sure to respond promptly if contacted by the IRS.
