Although not required for admission, professional work experience as well as involvement in organizational or community activities may be used in the evaluation. A comprehensive approach is used when considering an application, and no one factor will exclude an applicant from consideration. The University has a rolling admission process and reviews applications throughout the year. In order to ensure adequate time for evaluation and correspondence, it is strongly recommended that applications be submitted early.

    School Says - Campus Life
With two campuses on the island of Oahu, Hawai‘i Pacific University combines the excitement of an urban downtown campus with the serenity of a residential campus set in the green foothills of the Ko`olau mountains. The main campus is ideally located in downtown Honolulu, the business and financial center of the Pacific. Eight miles away, situated on 135 acres in Kaneohe, the windward Hawai'i Loa campus is the site of the nursing program, the marine biology, oceanography, and environmental sciences programs, and several liberal arts programs. Students can travel between the two campuses via the convenient HPU shuttle service.

There are also seven military campuses on the island of O'ahu located at Pearl Harbor Naval Base, Hickam Air Force Base, Schofield Army Barracks, Fort Shafter, Tripler Army Medical Center, Marine Corps Base Hawai'i--Kaneohe, and Marine Corps Base Hawai'i--Camp H.M. Smith to provide U.S. service members with educational opportunities.

To support graduate studies, HPU's libraries, with a collection exceeding 159,000 volumes, add an average of 2,500 volumes annually, 15 percent of which are on business topics. A significant number of business reference books, including national and international business directories, investment and financial services, accounting and tax information sources, and a collection of annual reports are available.

The University's accessible on-campus computer center houses more than 100 IBM-compatible microcomputers with stand-alone and networked configurations.

Career development and preparation is an integral part of Hawai'i Pacific University's MBA education. The University's key location in downtown Honolulu, in the heart of the business and financial community of the Asia-Pacific region, serves as an immense asset to MBA students seeking interaction with potential employers and mentors.
Hawai'i Pacific University's Career Services Center offers students professional support and consultations on services that range from career counseling to job preparation, job search assistance, employment listing, cooperative education and internships, and career opportunity referrals.

    School Says - Cost Aid
Full-time status per semester for a graduate student is nine credits; however, tuition is calculated on a per-credit basis. Graduate tuition for 2003–2004 is $432 per credit hour.
The cost of books, supplies, health insurance and personal expenses is additional.

Life as a graduate student demands that much time be spent on campus attending classes, conducting research, participating in group meetings, and attending cultural events. Living near campus makes the obligations of graduate student life easier.

Hawai‘i Pacific University's on-campus housing options are open to graduate students, but most graduate students prefer independent off-campus rentals because of the convenient locations close to the downtown Honolulu campus. The University works closely with an apartment referral service to assist students in placement.

Hawai'i Pacific University offers several types of institutional graduate scholarships and assistantships to new, full-time, degree-seeking students. HPU's graduate scholarships range from 20 percent to 50 percent tuition waivers for one or two semesters. Graduate assistantships provide a 50 percent tuition waiver for one semester and require the student to commit to a 10-hour-per-week work assignment.

Federal Stafford Student Loans are also available. Hawai‘i Pacific University's Graduate Admissions Office will work with the Financial Aid office to assist students with preparation of necessary application forms.
