Soon, guests at Wynn Las Vegas will be able to control their room's lights, temperature, drapes and television with just their voice.

The hotel on Wednesday announced plans to outfit all 4,748 rooms at its Las Vegas hotel with Amazon Echo speakers. Wynn will start installing the technology in its suites this month and plans to complete the project by summer 2017.

The move makes Wynn the first hotel in the world to allow guests to "verbally control every aspect of lighting, temperature and the audio-visual components" of their hotel room with Alexa, the "brain" and voice behind Echo, Wynn Chairman and CEO Steve Wynn said in a statement.

Once the technology is all hooked up, you'll be able to walk into your room and say "Alexa, open the curtains," or "Alexa, lower the temperature," for instance. In the future, Wynn also plans to introduce Echo-powered "personal assistant functions."

"If I have ever seen anything in my 49 years of developing resorts that has made our job of delivering a perfect experience to our guests easier and help us get to another level, it is Alexa," Wynn said. "The ability to talk to your room is effortlessly convenient."

There's no word on whether these Echoes will be secured in some way to prevent theft. But Amazon Alexa can be integrated into a number of devices, not just the standalone Echo. For example, it's now taking commands via a General Electric table lamp. The free-standing, LED-filled circular tube sports a hidden microphone and speakers, which harness the full power of Alexa.
