This discussion will look into how this UNESCO project, which is supported by the government of Iraq and funded by the UAE, is inviting architects and designers from around the globe to reimagine this historic landmark, and what its results will mean for not just the Middle East region, but the world as a whole.

Salma Al Darmaki, Secretary General of the UAE National Commission for Education, Culture, and Science and Assistant Undersecretary for Knowledge and Cultural Policies, Maher Taha Ismael, field coordinator and the representative of the Sunni Waqf in all UNESCO projects in Mosul, Abdulrahman Emad, representative of the Ministry of Culture of Iraq in Mosul, Eng. Ahmed Yousif Mahmood Alomary, Head of the Department of Architectural Engineering at the University of Mosul, Xavier Casanovas, Professor at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, and Dr. Maria Rita Acetoso, Senior Project Manager at the UNESCO Office for Iraq.
