While speaking to Entrepreneur India on what the company is doing in the Artificial Intelligence (AI) space in developing countries specifically in India, Eyal Gura the Co-Founder & Chairman of Zebra Medical Vision, spoke of the partnership with India's top hospital chain Apollo Hospitals.

"We are teaching computers how to raid and conduct medical scans and how to diagnose specific conditions in chest like chest infection, CT scan and mammography and many other things and once the algorithms are traced you can imagine the impact for diagnostic sustaining places where you don't have physicians, Gura said.

Gura is an angel investor and venture capitalist with Pitango Venture Capital, the largest venture capital fund in the Middle East.

He said half of the world population lives in places where they probably try for radiology expertise and most of the people live where they are nowhere near radiology.

His company Zebra Medical Vision is aiming at developing the ability to mark specific findings or find alerts for acute conditions, solve really big difficult medical problems.

According to him, Zebra's mission is to provide radiologists with the tools they need to make the next leap in patient care. The demand for medical imaging services is continuously increasing, outpacing the supply of qualified radiologists and stretching them to produce more output, without compromising patient care. Only by adopting new technology that significantly enhances the capabilities of radiologists, can this crisis be mitigated. Zebra is empowering radiologists with its revolutionary A1 offering which helps health providers manage the ever-increasing workload without compromising quality.

He is confident India is going to be among the world's top 3 health care markets in the next decade.

"We are happy to work with the Apollo Hospitals – it is one of the largest groups in India, it's a leading player and we are going to develop with them so they are going to be in a quick fix with India because of the population but this can also be an enabler for Modicare as it's a new Modi care era many patients in the one billion population and now they will now have funds to pay for mammography," he said.

Gura thinks Modicare is an act of leadership, which is very rare and its more royal to do it in such a big country the largest democracy on earth and it takes a lot of courage that India's Prime Minister is passionate about the rural area and economically it's an opportunity for startups company like Zebra and other healthcare companies to help those patients in India with new technology.

Zebra-Med's funding totals $50M, the B round of $12M was completed in May 2016 and the C round was completed a month ago. The company has partnered with key players in the health and tech space, including Google Cloud, CareStream Health, Intermountain Healthcare.

Entrepreneur India's staff met Eyan Gura and other members of Zebra Medical Vision as a part of their visit to Israel for the OurCrowd Global Investor Summit.
